The Maryland Academy of Audiology (MAA) is a professional society of audiologists, practicing in a variety of environments, who are dedicated to serving individuals with hearing and balance disorders. The MAA enhances the ability of members to achieve career and practice objectives by fostering professional autonomy, providing quality continuing education, and increasing public awareness of hearing and balance disorders and the value of audiological services.
The MAA had a very successful legislative year with the passage of 2 important pieces of legislation, including modernizing the definition of "practice audiology." The MAA also supported legislation to expand insurance hearing aid benefits to adults in Maryland. These successes help audiologists in Maryland further support our patients.
We are looking forward to continued learning and networking at our upcoming convention. To celebrate this year's legislative success and our convention, we are opening our 50/50 raffle to all friends of audiology!
